General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) In Action 1.00 Credit

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a European-wide law which came into effect in May 2018. It replaces the previous Data Protection Act 1998 in the UK. This law enforces data protection in the European Union. It is important to note that the UK Government has confirmed that the UK's decision to leave the European Union will not alter this fact.

In the UK, we also have The Data Protection Act 2018 which is a United Kingdom Act of Parliament that updates data protection laws in the UK specifically. It is a national law which incorporates and complements the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation.

Maguire Training has designed this short course to walk you through the broader EU Laws pertaining to GDPR, what it could potentially mean to your organisation and the steps that you can take to ensure compliance.

This course contains useful information and is an invaluable guide to understanding everyone's responsibility for data protection. It will also provide links to relevant sections for ICO guidance (you can find out more on each subject by clicking on these links) and to direction produced by the EU’s Article 29 Working Party.
